Full planning permission granted for a three-storey upward extension above the existing garages and driveway to provide nine residential units.
A phasing strategy was designed firstly to rely upon prior approval legislation by creating a precedent for taller buildings in the local area (see Harlequin Court on next page). This established taller building heights which enabled the developer to promote a development on the garage site that supported three additional storeys above the garages. The strategy maximised the amount of new housing across both sites.
